When you spend $64,000 on a watch, you’re well within your rights to demand something extraordinary and, it’s fair to say, the UR-105 TA “Clockwork Orange” Watch from Urwerk definitely doesn’t disappoint.

the urwerk classic orange

Quite unlike any watch you’re likely to encounter, the breathtaking Urwerk UR-105 TA “Clockwork Orange” Watch has left us pretty astounded here at Manhattan Time Service and if you too like your watches out of this world from a design point of view, you really need to check this beauty out.

As with all Urwerk watches, the “Clockwork Orange” has a mesmerising movement and watch face that offers a simply unparalleled aesthetic. The timepiece has a titanium with black coated steel bezel casing which gives it an immediate visual impact and the quality of materials used throughout its construction is nothing short of extraordinary.

Undoubtedly a highly engineered timepiece that won’t be to every horology aficionado’s tastes, the “Clockwork Orange” watch from Urwerk is definitely to ours at Manhattan Time Service and we’re quite simply astounded with just how much engineering and craftsmanship has gone into its construction.

Somewhat astoundingly, given the $64,000 price tag, the Clockwork Orange watch from Urwerk is actually one of their more “affordable” offerings but, as with most things, you get what you pay for and the quality components of this phenomenally crafted watch are what you’d expect for such a high end timepiece.

One of the first things you look at with a timepiece of this magnitude is the sort of movement that it offers and the Clockwork Orange excels in this department with an automatic UR 5.02 automatic movement which keeps superb time and looks visually superior. Another design feature which literally stands out with this wonderful watch is the bold, orange accents that really make it stand out from the crowd and it certainly isn’t a watch for shrinking violets. It’s a timepiece that demands attention and with a price-tag to match, it’s exactly the sort of watch that begs to be worn by the rich and famous.

The Urwerk “Clockwork Orange” watch has a case measuring a not too substantial 39.5mm wide and a much more unusual 53mm in length so it sits far from conventionally on the wrist and will immediately draw the eye. It’s only 17mm thick so it’s not an overly cumbersome piece but such is the unusual nature of the design, it will unquestionably stand out instantly and we’re truly stunned by just how big a punch this timepiece from Urwerk packs.

You’ll discover a 30m water resistance with this great-looking watch from Urwerk and it has a highly durable and rugged set of features which make it the perfect choice of watch for those men who like to live their life in the fast lane. The bright orange coloration is definitely not going to appeal to watch traditionalists but for those of us that like watches with a bit of character, it’s going to tick all of the right boxes for sure but, as mentioned given the price, it’s only going to be a viable option for deep-pocketed individuals.

urwerk watchmaking at its finest

With super cool design features like visible turbines, 48 hour power reserve and the fact it beats at at 28,800v/h (4Hz), there really is a lot to appreciate from both a design and functionality point of view with the Urwerk Clockwork Orange watch and we’ll be the first to proclaim our love for it at Manhattan Time Service.

If you’re on the hunt for a truly high end watch that is going to get you noticed and turn heads aplenty, you’re not going to go too far wrong if you’re rocking one of these Urwerk watches on your wrist. An audaciously designed timepiece which is not without its style and beauty, we’re big fans of this cracking construction from Urwerk here at Manhattan Time Service and we really can’t recommend it enough - for the quality of the craftsmanship alone.
