WHEN DOES MY ROLEX NEED SERVICING?
We recommend servicing your Rolex watch every 3 to 4 years, based on an average person wearing it daily.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY ROLEX DURING A SERVICE?
First off, we take apart the movement using specialist keys to open up the watch, then we separate and clean each part ensuring we get rid of old oils or dust. We change the parts which have been most worn out (such as the main spring and reverser wheel). If required, we will also replace the crystal too. We only use genuine Rolex replacement parts.
To restore the bezel, case and bracelet we use different pastes and polishers to achieve the correct finish. You have to be careful not to alter the shape of the casing, particularly if the watch is badly scratched or damaged. We also offer bracelet re-sizing and band replacement. For the dial restoration, even if it has rusted, we can usually restore it back to its original condition.

After this, we clean everything using specialist machines and then re-grease with oils specific to that part, before re-assembling the watch and testing it vigorously with pressure machines to make sure everything works correctly.
DO YOU SERVICE EVERY ROLEX MODEL?
Yes, we service pretty much every Rolex model including the Submariner, Explorer and Yacht-Master, along with older vintage models. We only use original Rolex parts. See our Rolex servicing page for more information>
WHAT’S THE COST OF SERVICING MY ROLEX?

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SERVICE?
Roughly around 2 weeks, depending on what’s involved – a lot quicker than sending it back to Switzerland!
DO YOU OFFER ROLEX ENGRAVING?
Yes, we do. Alongside engraving, we can also personalise your watch with diamond setting on the case, strap or bezel.
HOW CAN I PROTECT MY ROLEX AFTER SERVICING?
We recommend keeping your watch away from strong magnetic fields, which can alter or de-regulate the time. Avoid going through airport gates with your watch on, or near a microwave for example. If this is unavoidable, we will de-magnetise your watch free of charge when you bring it in for servicing.
Avoid wearing your watch in the shower, as soap and different chemicals can seep into the gasket, which can slowly damage it over time. Most Rolex watches have a screw down crown, which you must hand screw in to ensure it remains water tight.
Don’t wind or set your watch whilst on the wrist, if you put unequal pressure on the crown you can break the stem. Take it off the wrist before you manipulate the crown.
Avoid keeping the watch on a winder for too many days, it is fine to let a watch rest in a case or draw too. One day or two days a month on a watch winder is fine, all that needs to be done is to spin the oil inside the jewel caps.
1 YEAR AFTER SERVICE WARRANTY
After servicing, we also offer a 1 year warranty, which means if there is a mechanical issue with the watch you can bring it back to us.
Our feedback speaks for itself and we regularly receive 5*reviews from satisfied customers. We’ve included a few below, but you can also read some more on our Rolex Repairs Page>
OVERHAUL: “I have been going here ever since I had to wait 6 months for my watch company to send it back and forth to Switzerland just to have a crystal replaced. These guys are expertly trained on most major watch brands; they are super quick and totally honest. They can fix everything from a minor battery repair, to an overhaul of an antique gold watch.”
REPAIR: “I have brought several vintage watches to Manhattan Time Services over the years, some in very bad condition. Each time the repair was done rapidly and to my complete satisfaction by very competent and polite watchmakers – would recommend very highly.”
CRYSTAL REPLACEMENT: “Very professional service operation. They replaced the crystal for a watch I received more than 25 yrs ago as a gift. The crystal had to be cut there, as there were no replacement parts available. It looks good as new!”
ENGRAVING: “Had a great experience with Manhattan Time Service. I wanted a watch engraved for a wedding present; they were knowledgeable and I felt good leaving the watch in their care. The finished product looked great and the turnaround time was amazing!”
